Chef Jay-Ar Pugao

Chef Jay-Ar Pugao is the Executive Chef of No Worries, the first Filipino Vegan food purveyor in the United States established in 2000, and is presently the Plant Forward & Vegan Chef at Stanford University. Chef Jay-Ar has a deep passion for cultivating the plant-based scene and is a pillar in the culinary world, especially in the Bay Area. He has worked with Kaiser Permanente, San Francisco General Hospital, the San Francisco and Oakland Public School Districts, Google, and Facebook. He conducted cooking demonstrations, provided meals, and was a panelist/speaker for multiple events. Chef Jay-Ar currently works with the Athletics Department at Stanford University, creating clean, healthy, and protein-heavy plant-based dishes for Student Athletes. He also serves as a mentor and consultant at Stanford University's Central Production Kitchen to mass-scale his plant-based recipes for campus-wide dining halls.

Chef Jonah Pavon

Chef Jonah Pavon, like most chefs, started his career in the food industry as a dishwasher. He has over 20 years of experience working in restaurants, from pop-ups to brick-and-mortar, corporate dining, and notable restaurant groups. He now works in the educational sector as a sous chef for Stanford University.

Inspired by the Filipino "party plate," the local pho spot, East Bay taco trucks, and Michelin aspiring restaurants, Jonah has strengthened and reinforced his purpose and philosophy - good food, without compromising quality and technique, should be accessible to everyone.
